Christian Formation: ChildrenOur Children's Christian Formation is for all children age 3 to 4th Grade. Each Sunday, Christian Formation begins at 9:15 a.m. with Children's Worship in the Walling Children's Chapel. The worship liturgy is child-friendly including hymns, prayers, praise and scripture. The children are actively involved in the worship by serving as ushers, liturgists and acolytes. Worship lasts about fifteen minutes after which the children break into age-appropriate Godly Play classes.

At St. David's, we use the Godly Play curriculum, created by Jerome Berryman, for our Children's Christian Formation. Godly Play allows children to "play" with the language of God and God's people through sacred stories, parables, liturgical actions and silence. Our Godly Play classes are set up to be a space where children hear stories and are allowed to wonder about God and God's people without being given rote answers. This space allows them to become more fully aware of the mystery of God's presence in their lives.
